Howdy Wowwie. The food is good. It's a little out in the cuts section of Modesto so it can be a little bit of a drive. Anyways, I ordered the fried catfish. Catfish was good. Had a good amount of meat in it (not skimpy) and it was fried beautifully. The black eyed peas had a smokey taste to it. However, I think I'll skip out on the rice next time. The mashed potatoes were amazing with the gravy. The potatoes even had the skins! Ahh! My bf's saucy chicken was ok. A little dry on some parts but I'm not a big fan of red meat chicken. However, the Mac and yam combo together is so boooomb. The Mac had a nice spicy kick to it and the yams were perfectly sweet. The only thing I did not like was the corn beard. I found the bread on the dry side. Other than that; this place was a solid 4 out of 5. Service is coo. The food is served like Panda Express style, but food is prepared well. I didn't get sick so that's a plus.

WHERE Y'AT? When the Krewe eats here they gone need a hammock. You will NOT leave here on empty. The food here is D-Licous. Those melt in ya mouth yams, cabbage and that fried fish. HOT DAMN! They have ice cold sweet tea and the like. Great country cafe (southern) vibe. All they need is a Zydego band on Thursday night (hint hint) and LAISSEZ LES BON TEMPS ROULER. My gratitude to the chef/owners.

This place is amazing. Been looking for great soul food and finally found it. Mac n cheese did not disappoint. Staff was super friendly. Prices are great. I was able to feed a family of 4 for $50. Place was very clean and there's tons of parking. This will for sure become a weekly dinner spot.

Finally found a nice southern BBQ spot near Manteca. We've been trying to find a good spot for almost a year and we found Magnolia. A small lovely spot near from farms and land. It was very cozy inside and the employees were family. It was so lovely to see them smile and tend to us and other patrons. We ordered some hush puppies, cornbread, ribs, and jambalaya. The food was amazing! Definitely a spot that we will come again over and over. The only thing I was sad about was they didn't receive their meat delivery yet so I couldn't try their ox tail. For next time!

The family and I visited on our way to an evening event, and I was the only Magnolia's virgin in the group. I asked the cashier for a recommendation between the ribeye and the pork chop. She said they are both amazing (confirmed, because my sister ordered it and it WAS), but the pork chop is locally sourced from Long Ranch in Manteca. It was phenomenal: 1.5" thick, heavily (yet perfectly) seasoned, tender, and juicy (not dry). The Mac and Cheese had the tiniest jalapeño bite, along with creamy sauce and cooked just right. I crumbled some cornbread up in the cabbage and bacon for the perfect texture and flavor. Both were delicious alone, as well. The food was cooked to order and arrived in a reasonable amount of time. The place was clean and simple. Limited seating, but there were seats available for large or small parties. Rustic decor, very nice small place with excellent home cooking.

I saw this place on Yelp and was dying to get an opportunity to try it out. I visited on a Saturday evening and everything was Amazing! We tried the fried chicken, catfish, smothered cabbage, macaroni and cheese, red beans and rice and corn bread and they were all prepared to perfection! The banana pudding was the VERY BEST I've ever had and I can't wait to return to try more of their menu. The staff were beyond nice and hospitable and made us feel "at home".
